Construction Progress Continues at High Tech High

Tech Ed Services provided a vital role in the development of High Tech High (HTH), now under construction on the campus of Birmingham High School in Van Nuys. The Tech Ed Services proven grant writing processes facilitated the successful state award of a $2 million construction and technology grant to High Tech High, making HTH only one of five schools in the state, and the only school in southern California to win this highly competitive grant.

"We are very grateful for all the assistance provided by Tech Ed Services in writing this grant," offered Roberta Weintraub, High Tech High Founder and Executive Director. Weintraub said she was inspired to help create the high-tech school after noticing that many students lacked the knowledge to function in the technological real world.

At High Tech High every student will have a laptop computer, a wireless printer and a connection to the Internet. In addition, HTH emphasizes math, science and engineering. Fifty-five freshmen began classes at High Tech High in September in bungalows on the Birmingham campus. Completion of the $15-million facility is expected in the fall.

Tech Ed Services has assisted literally hundreds of schools secure funds for technology-related programs. Having garnered well over $60 million for schools, Tech Ed Services is a leader in grant writing processes. For more information, please call (800) 832-4411.
