Beyond Forms and Numbers… Comprehensive E-Rate Solutions with two great options now available

At Tech Ed Services Inc. (TES) we understand the daily challenges educational technology professionals encounter. With over thirteen years of successful experience in grant writing and management, technology planning and professional development working with hundreds of school districts, as well as our growing team of E-Rate specialists with their own deep expertise in telecommunications, regulatory and program management and compliance, only Tech Ed Services is uniquely positioned to help schools, districts and libraries navigate the E-Rate process so thoroughly and maximize the program’s potential.

Our E-Rate team is lead by Brenna Terrones (Deering). Prior to joining TES, Brenna worked for eight years at Verizon, most recently as a specialist in E-Rate services and provided USF training and consultation on a national level. From 2001 through 2004 Brenna’s contribution to the E-Rate/California Telecommunications Fund (CTF) Training Collaborative were acknowledged by State Superintendents Delaine Eastin and Jack O’Connell. Many school district administrators attest to her deep E-Rate knowledge and her commitment to accuracy and excellence. Brenna is a UCLA graduate who lives in San Pedro, CA with her husband, daughter and son. “I am really excited to be a member of the Tech Ed Services, Inc. management team, “ noted Brenna. “Being part of a caring professional group who shares my passion for serving education with integrity will allow me to expand my commitment and value to school districts and uphold the core goals of the USF program,” said Brenna. As a TES Corporate Specialist, Brenna leads the company’s E-Rate products and services group and consults on specific E-Rate/USF and Technology Use Planning projects nationally.

TES offers not only full-service Direct Consulting, but also introduces a new Coaching and Professional Development Institute option that lets California districts and libraries take expert, internal ownership of E-Rate while maintaining access to TES support.

Option 1: Direct Consulting Partnership

Under this model, assigned TES experts work closely with District IT, Business and other E-Rate stakeholders to manage the District’s E-Rate for the full funding year. Based on the District’s technology planning priorities, this partnership includes not only assisting the District with filing the required forms (including assistance with E-Rate Tech Plan Addendum, as needed), handling PIA and Selective Review, but also provides the professional guidance necessary to be sure all decisions related to E-Rate are sound and within program guidelines. We also leave you with a customized TES E-Rate Audit Preparedness Binder to keep you compliant and ready for follow up SLD inquiries or site visits.

For districts who simply want E-Rate “…taken off of their plates”, but still want the “peace of mind” of knowing the program is being handled properly and professionally, Direct Consulting is an excellent option.

Option 2: Coaching and Professional Development Partnership

Under this model, the full benefits of a comprehensive TES partnership really come into focus. As pioneering implementers of successful coach/mentoring programs for educational technology across dozens of school districts and county offices of education, TES is in a unique position to combine proven strategies from our professional development projects AND our E-Rate expertise that provide district teams access to a premiere new service, USF/SLD/E-Rate Coaching and Professional Development Institute.

In just a few full-day, facilitated workshops conducted throughout the year, District participants become confidently able to successfully implement and manage their entire E-Rate process, building sustainable E-Rate leadership and teamwork. And, as with any good partnership, TES is available to support your team each step of the way. It really is the best of both worlds – districts take ownership and develop expertise, while ongoing TES coaching support remains accessible throughout the process. For Districts who want to take full ownership of E-Rate and realize the cost-benefits of expertly doing it in-house, while still maintaining access to professional, expert support, our new Institute is designed for you.
